What kind of sick twisted lunatic goes to an all day outside in the sun and heat Air Show for the SECOND DAY IN A ROW?! This guy! *points at self* Who is the damn sexiest partner in crime who also stepped up to do back-to-back Air show days? That's right, that bad mama jama *points at @laura). Who did we force to go with us the 2nd day and had a pretty great time no matter what she said at the ned when we wouldn't spend $25 on a non licesned generic young kids toy plane (one of those pull back kind you see in the toys that have nothing to do with the location part of the gift shop)? That's right, our daughter *doesn't point at her because she's in a mood and I don't want to incur her wrath* No summary version, we go full tilt today. We left earlier. We went to the 'smaller' and closer shuttle pickup/drop off location, and were at the Air field outside the security check point by 830am. They don't open till 9am. There was a line. At 8:45 they said "Fuck it, we ball" and started letting people in. We walked around and looked at some things we didn't have time to look at last time. Rescue Blackhawk, C47 Skytrain (the kind that dropped troops at Nomrandy on DDay)(And we got to go in it!), Some B24s, a display of things from Soldiers during WWII, etc. And scored some free swag from RBFCU (like a water bottle, a decent insulated cup, can coozie, one of those string backpacks). Since we had seen about half the other stuff the day before, seeing the stuff we didn't the first day didn't take that long so we were able to get better seats near the runway. Then, while the ladies sat I went to go explore another area of the Air Show to see if there was anything worth walking that way for, and I didn't get very far before I spotted an EVEN BETTER spot near the runway. Alot closer to what they callend runway center. The show wasn't really that much different than the day before. Still was awesome to see all the demos again (and the B1 Bomber did another fly over, which was still awesome to see). Then we packed up and got in line to leave. Our shuttle line was a LOT shorter than the one for the other location (the one we used yesterday). Took us about an hour to get on a bus. Maybe 15 minutes to get back to the parking lot. And genius me parked under a tree that I knew would be shading the van when we got back (I was right the fan was not stupid hot after being in the sun that morning). Some bummers. I abandoned my wife to get a picture of our daughter on a mini-gun in a helicopter, and she had a small tumble getting out of the crew seating area of it while I wasn't there to help her. Completely my bad and understand if she divorces me. It was HOTTER today than yesterday, with less wind. Food still has bonkers prices. Two days in a row with lots of walking, and being outside in the sun, and constantly standing up and sitting down to watch the shows, craning our necks to look up above us, planes flying up near the sun so having to block that out, is VERY exhausting (because we are no longer young, and are not in amazing shape) Even though the wait in line for a bus back was quicker than yesterday, still sucks to be hot, exhausted, tired, and having to stand in a slowly moving line for an hour. Yesterdays failure to apply proper sunscreen was better today, but not perfect. Some new burns were earned by all. Daughter had almost no weekend to 'relax' and do the stuff she wants before she goes back to school.
